Things to Consider:

Hardwood is susceptible to scratching, so make sure to put covers on all furniture legs and consider areas rugs for higher traffic areas. It can also be damaged from excessive moisture.

What is the difference between solid hardwood & engineered hardwood?

Hardwood flooring is made of solid wood. It is usually made of hardwood species like maple, oak or walnut. Hardwood has a longer lifespan because you can sand and refinish it over and over.

Engineered wood flooring consists of a high-quality plywood core with a thin layer of hardwood on top. Engineered wood flooring looks almost identical to hardwood on the surface and is more affordable, however this cannot be refinished.

Both versions of hardwood have basically the same benefits and can be placed across your home, so the choice between the two usually is a personal one.
